Manipur CPI announces party candidate for LS poll

Manipur CPI unit Monday on announced to field former minister and senior leader of the party, Moirangthem Nara Singh in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls 2019. 

Moirangthem Nara Singh will be the party candidate from Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency, announced secretary of CPI state council, L Sotinkumar Singh at the press conference at CPI office in Imphal.
He said, “CPI representatives in parliament are very less but they play crucial roles in up-rooting BJP government in the country in the past and will continue to do so this time too.”
He said people of the country are facing numerous issues since the formation of BJP-led government. 
He claimed that whenever, BJP capture power there were one of other form of violent agitations which claimed precious lives in the region. 
He cited the present violent agitations in Arunachal Pradesh, which claimed two lives. Sotinkumar also recalled the violent agitations witnessed in Manipur during the BJP rule at the Centre in 2001 after the Centre agreed to extend the ceasefire agreement with the NSCN(I-M) without territorial limit.
In the infamous June 18 uprising, 18 precious live were lost, he said.
He claimed that another mass violent agitation that could have been witnessed across the Northeast region was avoided by the united firm stand of the opposition parties that dominate the Rajya Sabha.
He therefore appealed to the people to extend support to CPI in the coming Lok Sabha election to experience a new form of government that will protect the interest of the indigenous people of the region.
