A new Church building of the Mao Baptist Church Kohima (MBCK) was dedicated under the theme “Founded in Christ”, by executive secretary Mao Baptist Churches Association, Rev. K. Koda, as administrator, at Midland Kohima on Sunday.

Speaking on the dedication theme during the worship service, pastor MBC Punanamai, Rev. Dr. L. Kholi said every Christian should build foundations deeply rooted in Christ. Lauding the Church members for their enormous contributions and efforts to in constructing the building, the revered reminded the congregation that a Church has to be built with the right and Godly motives to glorify God.

Stressing on the importance of Christ in individual lives, Kholi said a personal relationship with Christ was more important than Church buildings and the individual life has to be properly founded in Jesus Christ. 

Encouraging pastors and Church workers to read the Bible, he said they have to be versed in Biblical knowledge to be strong in faith and to stand firm in God. Chairman New Church Building Committee Ashikho Daili, in his brief report said that work for foundation of the new Church building began in May 2010 with around Rs. 3 lakhs in hand. He reported that the total expenditure of the new Church building construction came to around Rs. 6.5 crores. Funds came through free will contributions, donations, earned through mass social works, sales days, special offerings and other activities.

The worship service was led by pastor MBCK, Rev. K. Losii Mao; invocation prayer was said by Rev. A. Pfokrelo; Rev. K. Koda released the MBCK new building souvenir; special songs were presented by MBCK youth and MBCK women; offertory prayer was said by Rev. N. Kaiho; Rev. L. Adani read from the scripture; hymns were led by A. Asiisa, music director MBCK; D. Kholi was the pianist and the benediction prayer said by Rev. S. Mangli.  

Earlier, the new Church building plaque was unveiled by Rev. K. Koda. The program was attended by pastors of various Churches of Kohima town, MBCA pastors and Church leaders, well wishers, Midland Colony GBs and leaders, MBCK members and others.
