Martial arts coaching camp in Mkg

The seven-day martial arts coaching camp and selection for Olympic Games 2019’, organised by Mokokchung District Martial Art Association (MDMAA), got underway Monday at the Multipurpose Sports Complex with Imkong Jamir, vice president, Ao Senden as the special guest.

Speaking at the inauguration programme, Imkong Jamir said that earlier martial art was defined as a self defence art but it has now become an internationally recognised sport for the people to remain physically and mentally fit. The special guest also lauded MDMAA for organising the camp and encouraged the students to learn with good spirit.

Kata demonstrations were performed by Toshimeren and Tiakum, Zila, Bendangtoba, Supongmeren and a demonstration by the students of Lady Bird School (Taekwondo).

The function was chaired by Rongsentoshi Jamir, president, MDMAA. A special dedicatory prayer for MDMAA was offered by Sungkumlemba, missionary, Straightway Christion Mission Centre.
