Parishioners of St. Francis De Sales (SFS) on October 26 conducted a mass social work at common cemetery, BSF Camp, Kohima under the guidance of Fr. Gabriel, Asst. Parish Priest, SFS church.

Braving the rain, a large number of parishioners turned out and cleaned the entire graveyard in the area particularly in observance “All souls day” which is observed on November 2 annually.

During the social work, weeds growing in and around the graves were all rooted out and a mass prayer was held.

It may be noted that All Souls Day for the Roman Catholics was a day of alms giving and prayer for the dead. The intent was for the living to assist those in purgatory by praying for them.
