MCC conducts workshop on innovative teaching

Model Christian College (MCC) conducted a two day workshop on innovative teaching on July 12 and 13 with NEHU, department of education, assistant professor, Dr. Euodia Bahun Myrthong, and St. Mary’s College of Teacher Education, Shillong, senior lecturer Calmy R. Kharlukhi, as resource persons. 
A press release by MCC administrator Albert Ariicho said the two day workshop was organized by the departments of Education and English, and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, North Eastern Regional Centre, NEHU Campus, Shillong.
Calmy emphasized on the different strategies of teaching involving technology. She also spoke about the constructivist method where students construct their unique understanding of a subject based on their past experiences with teachers as facilitators. 
The participants were divided into seven groups and were assigned to conduct a mock class presentation on the second day of the workshop, which was followed by a discussion and a feedback session. 
Earlier, managing director S.P. Francis, prayed for the success of the workshop and a welcome address was delivered by principal Dr. Luke Rymbai.
A keynote address was delivered by State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, principal Hekishe Sena. Dr. Euodia inaugurated the workshop with a brief introduction of the participants.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory function chaired by Department of English, assistant professor Thethem.
A summary of the workshop was delivered by vice principal Dr. Nungshikokla and a vote of thanks was delivered by Department of Education, assistant professor Jamkhanmoi.
Altogether 32 participants attended the workshop.
