MCK, Immanuel College observe graduation day

Modern College Kohima (MCK) and Immanuel College observed their respective graduation day on July 30. 

The event at Modern College was held at the college auditorium, which was graced by branding strategist and designer, Sinlo Kemp as special guest. In his speech, he congratulated the college and the students for the good result and encouraged the students to work harder. 

Blessing for the graduates was said by department of history assistant professor Alito Swu. Speech on behalf of the graduates was delivered by Cwole Doulo. L. Chinglem Konyak spoke on behalf of the College Students’ Union while Takanungba Pongen of B. Voc. spoke on behalf of the juniors. Chongboi Singson and Pukhro Mero also shared their experiences.  

On the occasion, five university toppers- Cwole Doulo (Economics), Ashihrii Kapeini (Education), Chongboi Singson and L. Chinglem Konyak (Political Science) and Pukhro Mero (B.Voc.) were awarded meritorious citation along with mementos by administrator John Besii. Department of Economics, Education, Political Science and B. Voc also feliciated their toppers. Graduate certificates were also handed over to all the graduates present.

The graduation day at Immanuel College was graced by North East Christian University (NECU) vice chancellor, Prof. Darlando Kathing as commencement speaker. 

A press release from Immanuel College media cell, convener Akutu Poireng stated that North East Christian University (NECU) vice chancellor Prof Darlando Kathing graced the occasion as commencement speaker. He advised the graduates never to give up but focus and dedicate to their goal. He also urged the graduates to follow three principles in life- to fear God and to trust Him, to be honest and be humble. 

The college, governing body chairman Dr. A Loso Chalai spoke on the occasion and speech was also delivered by the outgoing students, Hito S Mech BA and Tekamongla Longkumer B.SC.

On the occasion the college also released a book in the presence on “ Issues and Challenges of Higher Education in North East India” published by heritage publishing house, Dimapur which is a compiled seminar proceeding of a two-day National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) sponsored National Seminar held on March 14 and 15, 2019.

Earlier, the programme led by HOD Botany, O. Lothunglo Ngullie began with an invocation by assistant professor of education Temjen Longkumer and welcome address by college principal, Th. Sharatchandra Singh.
