Meriema youth sports meet underway

The 24th Meriema village youth games and sports meet got underway Thursday at Meriema ground with Vibeilietuo Kets, president, 11 Northern Angami A/C -11 NDPP as special guest. The five-day long sports meet would conclude on December 31.

Addressing the gathering, Kets said that the present government is giving due importance to sports and to groom the talented youth in the state. In this regard, the government is reviving the Dr. T. Ao tournament to boost the local youths, he said.    
The inaugural program was led by Mhasizolie, invocation prayer was offered by Keduolhoulie Shiiya, pastor, Baptist Church Meriema, special song was presented by CRC Meriama, presidential address was delivered by Medongulie Keditsu while the oath was administered by games and sports secretary Luolazotuo Yaotsu.
Events like athletics, football, volleyball for both men and women would be played during the five-day long meet.
