MGM Higher Secondary School (MGMHSS) Midland, Dimapur celebrated “Ethnic Day” on May 4 at the school ground. School Arts club secretary, Vito and associate Arts club secretary, Ketuvinuo, were the host and hostess of the programme.

In a press release, MGMHSS through its media cell stated that in the inaugural address, principal Fr. Dr. P.S Varghese spoke on the importance of traditions in one’s life. He explained on how one can inherit, observe and hand over to the next generations.

Further, he said that the children were the future of the country and that they must valued it and practice it in its full sense. In order to understand their traditions, they must be aware about their history, that defines their past and tells them who they are today and also about their future, he stated.

The day started with an invocation by school vice-captain, Elvira Sumo followed by lighting of traditional lamp by principal, Fr.Dr.P.S Varghese and head master, B. Paul.

Various programmes were presented by the children of nursery to class 12, from their own traditions.
