MGOS celebrates feast of patron saint

Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian Church (MGOS) Church, Dimapur celebrated feast of its patron saint on November 9 and 10.

A press release by MGOS media cell stated that, during evening prayer on November 9, spiritual discourse was given by Rev Fr. Dr. PS Varghese, vicar MGOS Church, Dimapur. On November 10, morning prayer was followed by Holy Qurbana.  

A public meeting was also organized, where 2019 toppers of MGM HSS, Suhana Begum (1st rank holder in Commerce stream), Shingke (2nd rank holder in Arts stream) and Kajol Panika (School topper in HSLC) were felicitated with cash prizes and Mar Theodosius meritorious award.

Reji Kuriakose, treasurer, Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian Church Church, Dimapur welcomed the gathering, while Kukku Cherian, secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. 

The main highlights of the programme included songs and speech presentations by Dimapur and Kohima Sunday school students, MGM hostellers and neighbourhood hostellers. 

Felicitation address was delivered by Rev Fr. Gemcy Eappen, vicar and incharge of Kohima congregation. 

Members of Malayali community from several interior places like Jorhat, Tinsukia, Kohima and various parts of Nagaland attended the feast.

The programme ended with auction, love feast and lowering of the flag while gifts were distributed to students.
