Mhasinyüzo wins U-17 Naga Wrestling C’ship

Mhasinyuzo Peseyie defeated Mhaseve Resuh to emerge as the champion of U-17 Naga Wrestling organised by 3E Nagaland here at Naga Solidarity Park, below New Secretariat Complex, Kohima on Thursday. 

While Angutuo Peseyie beat Thejapfütuo Chüsi to take the third position. A total of 20 junior wrestlers including one each from Konyak and Khiamniungan tribe took part in the competition.  The winner of Naga wrestling for junior category received a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, while the runner-up received Rs. 15,000. The third and fourth placed wrestlers received Rs 10,000 and Rs. 5000 respectively. 

The veteran category for 40 years and above also took place with three veterans taking part in the championship. Former wrestling champion Kezhalelie Keretsü emerged as the winner while Ruokuosielie Khawakhrie and Rudasa Curhah came in second and third respectively.  The winner of Naga Wrestling for veterans received Rs .50,000. The second and third received Rs.25,000 and Rs.15,000 respectively.

Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA gave away the prize to the winners.

Meanwhile the X1 Fight Night Kohima (MMA) will be held on December 6 and 7. The event is being organised under the aegis of Mixed Martial Arts Association of Nagaland and MMA India.
