Extending support to the decision taken by residents of Mopong Hongkong during a meeting held on January 6 at Kenchenshu village to boycott the ensuing Republic Day celebrations, Mopong Hongkong Students’ Union (MHSU) has urged the State government to redress grievances of the general public.

In a release issued by its president L Kholee and general secretary A Moba Konyak, MHSU also announced boycotting the Republic Day celebrations, if the matter was not resolved within the timeframe as stated in the ultimatum submitted by Mopong Hongkong citizens to reinstate EAC (HQ) Mopong under ADC Tobu administration for the convenience of the people of the area.
