Mopong Hongkong Students Union (MHSU) undertook renovation drive at PHC Mopong, which kick started on May 11 as part of its “Health is wealth” initiative under the theme “Year of social awakening”.

A press release from MHSU president L. Kholee and general secretary A. Moba Konyak stated that, PHC Mopong is the only centre for 11villages of Mopong Hongkong which was upgraded and designated without availability of medical officer (MO) till date.

MHSU stated that the health centre is a 12 bedded facility built during 1999 to 2000 but over the years it has been neglected by the government and concern department.

In this regard, the MHSU during its consultative general public meeting on March 8, 2019 resolved to reinstate the building to make it usable through freewill contributions and services.

Mopong Hongkong Students Union  expressed hope that revamping of the PHC will certainly bridge the gap between the needy community and the state government.
