Miss Kohima runners-up message to PM goes viral

 Focus more on women instead of cows said the first runner-up of Miss Kohima 2019 Khrielievinuo Suohu whose response has now gone viral on social media and different news website outlets have picked up the story. 

Miss Kohima 2019 Beauty Pageant was held under the theme, “Educate a girl, empower a society,” organized by Agathos Society at RCEMPA, Jotsoma on October 6. During the question hour in the second round of question, one of the judges asked “If Prime Minister of our country Modi ji invited you to chat with him, what would you say?” In response, she said “If I were invited to have chat with Prime Minister of India, I would tell him to focus more on women instead of cows”. The 19 year old is a student of Kros College Kohima currently pursuing her bachelor degree.

In the event, Khrienuo Liezietsu was crowned as Miss Kohima 2019, while the 19 year Khrielievinuo Suohu in 1st runner-up and 2nd runner up title by Vikuonuo Sachu. 

Twitter handler Uzair Hasan Rizvi uploaded the video clipping on October 14 and has got more than 50,000 views on internet and many news agency have picked up the story. However, the news agencies instead of first runners up Khrielievinuo Suohu have written “Vikuonuo Sachu”, who was the second runner-up of the beauty pageant. 

The social media had both positive and negative answer in response to the video uploaded. One of the twitter account commented “more than the answer it was the applause that nailed it!”, one said she simply stated “one fact among many. And it was the bull’s eye. Deal with it”. “And she gets all the cheers my winner by 1000 miles’ commented. While another stated “a humorous reply but quite true”.

During the beauty pageant event, the panel of judges included model Ketholeno Kense Vihienuo, former beauty queen Lanula Kronu and Razouvikhol Luho, head of operations, PR & corporate communication, YouthNet.
