MITE organizes Fresher’s Meet 2018 in Kohima

The Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima celebrated its Fresher’s Meet for the Academic Session 2018-20, on August 10, at the college auditorium.

A press release from MITE principal Devanand Sinha stated that the function was organized by MITE students’ union with the help of the six clubs of MITE.

The program was graced by Hongfei Xing from China as the special guest. The managing director introduced Hongfei Xing, director of English Practice Center, University of Science and Technology of China, who is currently teaching Mandarin (Chinese) as a foreign language to students of Modern College, Kohima. 

In her speech, she appreciated the hospitality of the Nagas, and shared about the education system in China and the various qualifications required to become a teacher in China.

She also encouraged and wished the freshers the very best in their future professions.

The program was chaired by Sangti Konyak and Yabangienla Kechu of 3rd semester, invocation was pronounced by Chisiiro and welcome address was delivered by Tiatemsu Aier.

All the freshers introduced themselves and also spoke about their hidden talents. The fresher’s were also presented with gifts.

Later, vote of thanks was delivered by Abanu Richa and benediction was pronounced by William Koza.
