The Mizoram government has issued standard operating procedure (SOP) to be followed by stranded state residents, who are arriving at the state’s lone Lengpui airport.

According to the SOP, all stranded people, who are returning by flight, will have to intimate their air tickets to resident commissioner or deputy commissioners of Mizoram houses at cities where they are stranded.

In the states where Mizoram House does not exist, such details should be reported through nearest Mizo Welfare Association.

Any person, who is intending to return, should obtain prior permission from the state government for movement.

All the returnees will undergo mandatory screening for Covid-19 and Rapid Antibody Test on their arrival at the airport and those, who returned from red zones will have to undergo Real Time-PCR test after arrival at their respective quarantine facilities.

Among others, all the passengers, who are arriving by flight, will have to proceed directly towards their respective quarantine facilities only by means of transportation arranged by the State Government and they will have to undergo mandatory 14 days quarantine.
