Mkg Auto/MotoX and Moatsu Sprint underway

The 5th Mokokchung Auto/MotoX and Moatsu Sprint 2019, organised by Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM), got underway Thursday at Yimchalu village, Mokokchung. 

The three day motorsports event will witness drivers and riders from various places come together to compete for the podium finish. 

A brief flag off programme was held Thursday morning with W. Manpai Phom, additional deputy commissioner and administrator of Mokokchung Municipal Council as the special guest. Speaking at the programme, the special guest acknowledged the efforts of AMAM for being consistent in organising such event on an annual basis. 

He also called upon the participants to participate in the true spirit of sportsmanship and further encouraged them to let the sports be the champion. He also lauded the Yimchalu Village Council members for declaring the village as “Plastic Free Zone”. 

Imkongmar, president of AMAM delivered the welcome address.

After the inaugural programme, the special guest flagged off the first car for the sprint event. Around 40 participants in both two and four wheelers are taking part in this year’s event. In the below 1300cc, there are 18 drivers, 7 drivers in above 1300cc and 6 drivers in the SUV category. There are 8 participants in two wheelers category. The winners will be awarded with cash prizes as well as trophies and certificates.
