Mnp registers highest single-day spike of 270 COVID cases

Manipur reported 270 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the highest single-day spike since the outbreak in the state, taking the total tally of infections to 9,280 cases. 
Of the 9,280 total cases, 2333 including 346 Central security force personnel were are active cases while the recoveries reached 6887 upon discharge of 49 patients on  Tuesday.
The recovery rate which was 78% earlier reduced to 74.21%.
The fatality number also rose to 60 with the death of an 82-year-old man from Imphal West district at JNIMS hospital on Monday night.
The  270 new cases on Tuesday included 56 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) posted in the state.
Of the 214 new cases among the general populace, 205 have no significant travel history.
Among the new confirmed cases, 54 were from Imphal West district, 100 from Imphal East, 29 from Thoubal, 3 from Tengnoupal, 6 from Bishnupur, 7 from Kakching, 3 from Chandel, 1 from Kangpokpi, 5 from Churachandpur, 4 from Tamenglong district and 1 each from Kamjong and Senapati districts.
The 49 patients who recovered on Tuesday included CAPF personnel, the report said.
