Moilan village bans hunting & fishing

Moilan Village Council (MVC) under Wokha has imposed ban and restrictions on hunting and fishing within its jurisdiction.  

A press release from MVC chairman Myamo Ovung and secretary Ajamo Humtsoe stated that the council has also imposed ban on use of chemicals for fishing, use of electric batteries and wildlife hunting. 

MVC stated that this decision was made after thorough deliberation among council members. The council further informed the public that anyone found violating the resolution will be dealt as per Art 5 and imposed with a fine of Rs. 5000.
