Mokokchung DPDB discusses Mini Hornbill

The Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at Conference Hall of the ADC Planning on July 9 with DPDB chairman and advisor, Imnatiba chairing the meeting.
DIPR reports that the advisor informed the members that the Mini Hornbill Festival was one of the many initiatives of the PDA government, taken with an objective to promote unity among the people and to give the state greater exposure.
Minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Metsubo Jamir who also attended the meeting said that Tsungremmong, one of the most important festivals of the Aos, will be clubbed with the Mini Hornbill festival giving more meaning to the celebration. He called upon all the government departments and the NGOs to come forward and participate by contributing ideas for the success of the festival.
Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung who is also the chairman of the Mini Hornbill Festival in the district presented the committee meeting minutes in connection with the festival in Mokokchung which was fixed to be held from August 1 to August 3.
The house also discussed the deteriorating road conditions of NH-2, Tuli Sector and the concerned department informed the members that due to litigation in the court owing to price escalations, the department was not in a position to interfere. The house advised the department to sort things out with the contractors so that normal life would not be affected.
Taking note on the non-availability of fish in the market due to the recent ban imposed on fish supply after formalin was detected in the fish, the board agreed in principal to encourage and find ways to invite local fish producers to the market
