Mokokchung DPDB meeting held

The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting cum Pre-Christmas programme for the month of December was held on December 6, at Tuli along Milak riverside. 

In review of the last DPDB meeting minute, approval of tourist village status to Ungma village owing to several sites of historical and cultural significance, grant of approval for recognition of ‘Operation Tuli’ and Growth Centre Society and briefing by Superintendent of Police Vishal Chauhan on traffic situation and their solutions were key highlights of the meeting. Members provided their approval for the concerned proposals as well as gave key suggestions and comments for effective execution. 
Convenor, Tuli Town Development Committee also put forth several agendas for consideration of the board which were thoroughly deliberated upon by the participants. The board also granted approval to registration of Tsupokdak Society, Manna Welfare Society, Arju Rural Development Society. 
With respect to the demand put forth by Wamakan village council for health sub-centre in the village, a detailed report from concerned medical officer was solicited. The Principal, Fazl Ali College also put forth a proposal for upgradation of infrastructure in the college before the board for its consideration.
The concluding remarks delivered by chairman DPDB Mokokchung, highlighted the significance of communication, coordination and courtesy for attainment of the objectives of development and welfare of the district and society. 
The meeting was chaired by deputy speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer and co-chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir. 
Minister PWD, Housing & Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum, MLA Tuli Constituency, Amenba Yaden, MLA 28th Assembly Constituency, Imkong Imchen and advisor, Skill Development and Labour Welfare, Imnatiba also graced the occasion with their presence. 
Chairman District Planning and Development Board extended the season’s greetings to the gathering and also highlighted the significance of organizing the meeting in Tuli sub-division. He expressed the need for all present to deliberate upon the agendas and other issues to arrive at comprehensive solutions. Later, legislator from Tuli constituency highlighted the roles and functions of DPDB and expressed the need for all officers to understand the realities of remote areas as well.
DC, Mokokchung further expressed his regards and gratitude for members and citizens present for their support and cooperation in successful conduct of the District Planning and Development Board meeting.
