Mokokchung DTF holds meeting on IPPI

Mokokchung District Task Force (DTF) on Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) held a meeting on January 15 at Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung office.

A press release by the office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mokokchung stated that the DC, who chaired the meeting, stressed on mandatory immunisation of children.

At the meeting, DPO (RCH&UIP), Dr. Ayangla Saku briefed the members about IPPI which includes the poliomyelitis, risk of wild polio virus and to make the community aware of the necessity of multiple administration of OPV. 

She appreciated the achievement of 98% coverage in the previous IPPI and discussed the issues relating to the target set for immunization in the district.

Dr. Ayangla informed that 205 polio booths would be set up throughout the district on January 19 and that house to house visit would be carried on January 20-21, for those children who missed out the immunisation programme on the first day.

She requested the CDPOs to initiate the Anganwadi at their jurisdiction to be more active for the progress of immunization programme.
