Mon DPDB discusses district roads

The monthly Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on July 16 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon.
A DIPR report stated that advisor for Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD and Relief & Rehabilitation and chairman DPDB, Mon, Pohwang Konyak said “the government is spending lots of money on roads but the road in the district is not satisfactory” referring to Mon-Namtola road. 
He reminded the concerned department to present a report of the progression of work and also give completion certificates to contractors only after completion and proper verification of their work.
He mentioned that the quality of road construction should not be compromised due to shortage of sanction money or any other excuses. He said that the government was ready to grant more funds for genuine cases. 
Numerous other agendas were discussed in the meeting.
Dr. Manjan Konyak, Farm Manager PBC, Tizit gave a slide show presentation on the activities carried out by the Veterinary & Animal Husbandry department in Mon district during the year 2018.
Dr. Kechongol Sophie, CMO Mon also spoke about the Measles-Rubella Vaccination campaign to start from October 3. Mon district is targeting around 80-90 thousand children.
Earlier, the board welcomed new DPDB members Imnalensa, SP Mon, Kumar Ramnikant ADC Mon Hq, Er. Nikuto, EE PWD (R&B) and Hukato Sumi, V/P Wangkhao College.
