The civil society organisations (CSOs) of Mopong range including Mopong Hongkong Public Forum (MHPF), Konyak Union (KU) Branch Mopong, Village Council Union (VCU) and Gaon Buras Union (GBU) Mopong range have directed the Mopong Hongkong villages public general and all responsible to refrain from participating in the proposed inaugural programme of the office buildings of SDO (C), BDO and Police Station, Angjangyang SDO (Civil), scheduled to be held on November 27, 2020.

In a joint press statement, MHPF president A Neangba Konyak, VCC U Mopong range president Engo Konyak, KU (B) Mopong president A Yangkon Konyak and BGU Mopong range president A Meila Konyak cautioned that any organization or individual attending the proposed inauguration programme would be doing “at their own whims and personal interest.”
Further, they warned that anyone participating at the programme would be held solely responsible for “negative repercussions in the future.”
The signatories stated they had no complaints against the developmental activities of the government, both past and present.
However, they said that the general public and responsible organisations had already objected to the transfer of Mopong circle villages under Angjangyang SDO (C) and appealed to the government time and again to retain the Mopong EAC Hq and its circle villages under Tobu ADC administration centre, which was transferred during the retention of Longching EAC Hq in 2014.
They said that transfer of Mopong, EAC Hq under Angjangyang Hq from Tobu ADC Hq administration centre was made without consulting the general public and without the consent of the MLAs of 55 Tobu AC and 48 Moka AC at that point in time.
