Following reports on April 13 of an assault on a 13-year old minor girl by a government servant and his wife in Kohima, more organizations have come out in condemnation of the incident.

The victim was reportedly working as a domestic helper with the couple.

KSUD, KNSKD and KUD: Konyak Student’s Union Dimapur (KSUD), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong Dimapur Unit (KNSKD) and Konyak Union Dimapur (KUD) have strongly condemned the assault on a 13 year old girl by a government servant and his wife.

A condemnation note issued by KSUD president Wangwan Konyak and general secretary, Konang Konyak stated that this kind of inhuman acts cannot be tolerated anymore in a civilized society.

The three unions also urged the law enforcing authority to punish the culprits as per the law and appealed to all concerned citizens to not involve in such kinds of acts in the future.

AASU: Aboi Area Students Union (AASU) has vehemently condemned the assault on a 13 year old minor girl by a couple.

In a condemnation note, AASU president, Mankhat Kaihi described the incident as an inhuman and uncivilized act committed by the individual and his wife, although he was an educated government officer, which, AASU said, was beyond tolerance.

AASU also voiced resentment against such acts that imperil, and infringe upon, peace and tranquillity.

Aboi Area Students Union further urged and appealed to the law enforcing agency to deliver befitting punishment against the culprit.
