Mount Tiyi College, Yingli College celebrate fresher’s social

 Mount Tiyi College (MTC) celebrated its 44th  fresher’s social on August 4 at the college premises.

A press release from MTC media cell stated that, deputy commissioner of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his speech, the DC emphasized on importance of making decisions, whereby he encouraged the students to take decisions based on what their heart tells them to and not based on what others tell them. 

“Every individual is unique and that one should not waste time trying to be somebody else” instead one should not be afraid of dreaming to achieve goals for success will be more satisfying if one extends help to others also” he said. The programme was chaired by Liyingbeni Tungoe of 3rd semester. Principal Dr. Apeni Lotha welcomed the gathering. Speeches on behalf of the seniors and freshers were delivered by Mharhoni of 3rd semester and Aben Enny of 1st semester respectively, invocation prayer was pronounced by Areni Ezung of 3rd aemester and closing prayer was pronounced by Mhonjan Jungio of 5th semester. Special dedicatory songs were presented by 5th semester students, Mhono Ezung of 5th semester and Lirhoni Z Odyuo of 1st semester. Vote of thanks was delivered by MTCSU games and sports secretary Lichon Kithan. The programme also highlighted selection of Mr & Miss Fresher where Aben Enny and Jasperlyn Ngullie bagged the titles respectively.

YCL: Yingli College Longleng (YCL) also observed its 26th fresher’s day on August 4 under the theme “transcending new horizon” at Borgohain Hall, Yingli College. The occasion was graced by deputy commissioner Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam as the special guest. A press release from Yingli College assistant professor & convenor fresher’s social, Lochumbeni Shitiri stated that welcome address was delivered by principal of the college, K. Hokhetoc Sumi; welcome song was presented by BA 3rd semester students; invocation by assistant professor, Phenmei B Phom; special prayer for the college was offered by executive secretary PBCA, N. Tialemba; special song and musical piece were presented by BA 5th semester students and Nganom.

The programme culminated with the crowning of Mister and Miss Fresher Yingli College 2018, wherein Chingmei M was adjudged as Mister Fresher 2018 and Chingkamtenla as Miss Fresher 2018 respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by Thenjoy, while closing prayer was offered by Yingli Phom.  The programme was anchored by Lenke and Ngamshing. The cultural extravaganza was organized by the Yingli College Students’ Union in the second session.
