MRVC meetings conducted in Longleng, Zbto

Meetings of the District Task Force (DTF) committee on malaria and measles & rubella vaccination campaign was held consecutively under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner & chairman DTF committee, Longleng on August 14 at the conference hall of DC, Longleng.

According to DIPR report, DC, John Tsulise Sangtam lauded the efforts of the doctors, medical professionals and the DTF committees for progress in the effort to control, prevent and eliminate malaria in the district with nil mortality rates for the last few years in Longleng. He also advised the medical professionals to do more research and investigation for total elimination of malaria in the district. 

John also lauded the team of doctors and DTF committee on measles & rubella. He suggested for organizing a meeting of the administrative officers along with leaders of the religious community, heads of the educational institutions, wards & colony and the NGOs for accurate collection of Data for MR campaign for 100% coverage in Longleng.  

Keynote address and power point presentation on malaria elimination program in India was presented by Dr. Manyau Phom DVBO. Dr. Meren DIO & DPO (RCH & UIP), Longleng gave a power point presentation on sensitization, training and other related activities carried out at various levels in the district for all sections of the society. CMO Longleng Dr. O. Kongyan Phom also spoke at the event.  Vote of thanks was proposed by A. Afen Phom DVBC, Longleng. 

Zunheboto: Sensitization training for ASHAs & AWWs on measles rubella vaccination campaign (MRVC) under Zunheboto Sadar & Pughoboto block was held on August 13 at Zunheboto. A press release by district media officer (DMO), CMO office, Zunheboto, Shekho Sophie stated that, during the workshop Dr. Alemwabang Aier, DPO (RCH & UIP), Zunheboto motivated the participants to work with dedication and sincerity for the upcoming MR campaign. He explained about the AEFI treatment/management during MR campaign and on organising vaccination sites including injection safety and waste management during MR campaign.

Shekho Sophie, DMO highlighted to the participants on country MR update, elimination strategies and basic strategies operational plans for MRVC. 

He briefed about the importance of advocacy with stakeholders and social mobilization and on capacity building of community and media management. In Pughoboto CHC the resource persons were Dr. Visavotuo Sachu, MO (dental surgeon) and Vihuto Wotsa, BPM Pughoboto block. The training was attended by ASHAs & AWWs of Zunheboto sadar and Pughoboto block.
