MSK Longleng conducts awareness for girl child

Kid’s awareness on “good touch & bad touch” for little girls between 4-12 years of age & “Girl Child Week” celebration was jointly conducted by Mahila Shakti Kendra & DTF Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Longleng at EBRC Hall Longleng on July 5. 

According to DIPR report, the main aim of the programme was to make them understand between the right and wrong and make them emotionally strong. Tutinungla Phom, district coordinator, gave a brief introduction on girl child week celebration. Phungla Phom, WWO MSK Longleng facilitated the outstanding girl students with certificates and gift hampers. She also stressed on the importance of girl child rights and encouraged them to fight against all odds and become a woman with dignity. 
She also gave a brief explanation on what are good touch and bad touch and in order to make them understand better, a chart was displayed to the children. They were taught to scream and shout for help and learn to say no in any uncomfortable situation. 
To support towards the initiative programme under the Scheme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. Gift hampers were given to all the girl students who attended the programme.  Seminar for new mothers and awareness on teenage pregnancy was also conducted on June 29 & July 2 at DC conference hall respectively, attended by DTF BBBP members, girl child & the parents.
