MSME approves 3 cluster projects worth Rs 1423.95 lakh for Manipur

Union ministry of Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has approved three cluster projects worth Rs 1423.95 lakh for Manipur.
A report of the state DIPR on Thursday said that the approval was given during the 50th Steering Committee of Micro & Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) held on July 2 last at New Delhi under the chairmanship of Dr Arun Kumar Panda, secretary (MSME). The three cluster projects approved include Spice and Food Processing Cluster in Churachandpur district with project cost of Rs 656.75 lakh, Wood Carpentry Cluster in the same district with a project cost of Rs 436.61 lakhs and Greater Imphal Jewellery Cluster in Imphal East with a project cost of Rs 330.59 lakhs, the release said. 
The steering committee was attended by director C Arthur Worchuyio of state trade, commerce and industries) and G Kahmei OSD (MSME) as representatives of the state government. 
This was the first time ever that the department has received approval for cluster projects in the state from Union ministry of MSME.  It will help build infrastructure and machineries which will aid in technology and skill up gradation of the micro entrepreneurs involved in trade.  In the long term, these cluster projects will increase productivity and generate income and resources for the micro entrepreneurs of the State. The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurs, Guwahati will be the implementing agency for the three clusters, the release added.
