Mt. Carmel Higher Secondary School and Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School booked their quarter-final berths of 3rd Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament after winning their respective pre-quarterfinal matches on Saturday. 

Mt. Carmel Higher Secondary School thrashed Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma 4-0 with the help of Razuovituo’s hat-trick to enter the next round. 

Razuovituo scored in 2th, 49th and 52nd minute to become the 7th hat-trick scorer of the tournament. Kevinguzo also found the back of the net in 9th minute.  In the second match, Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School edge past 2nd edition finalist Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School by 4-3. 

In a seven goal thriller, Naoman came to the rescue of Ministers Hill Baptist HSS scoring a hat-trick. 

Ministers’ Hill School broke the deadlock through Naoman in 4th minute. But within two minutes, Kuveo Huzhu got back the equaliser for the opponent team.

Naoman scored his second goal in 16th minute to make it 2-1 till the end of the first half. 

The second half saw Ahuoji Nyusou scoring the third goal for the Ministers Hill to make it 3-1 in the 38th minute. 

However Mount Sinai’s team captain Shovelo Doulo struck twice in 40th and 53rd minute to get the equaliser and bring the team back into the game. 

With both team unable to find the winning goal, the match headed for an extra time of 15th minute where Minister’s Hill striker Naoman rose on the occasion to struck home the winning goal in 66th minute to finish the game. With his third goal, he became the 8th hat-trick scorer of the tournament.
