Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has undertaken a mass sensitisation programme from June 25 to educate the people about the COVID-19 virus.
A press release from MTLT COVID-19 coordination committee convenor Merang Longkumer and member secretary Longrangty Longchar stated that, as part of its first phase mass sensitisation programme, the MTLT COVID-19 coordination committee made announcements in and around the town appealing the people to wear mask and maintain social distancing. MTLT members also distributed free mask to the pedestrians who were not wearing mask. The youth leaders also visited all the shops and asked them to wear mask and keep hand-sanitisers or hand wash in their shops. The mass sensitisation is being undertaken as part of the MTLT COVID-19 virus mitigation programme.
COVID-19 mass sensitization programme will continue on June 27, where another mass publicity campaign will be undertaken to create mass awareness and also fight against stigma and discrimination on COVID-19 in the society.
MTLT activities are being actively supported by the district administration, Police, Medical department and minister in-charge of Mokokchung district, Metsubo Jamir.
