Several hundred vehicles were left stranded along NH-29, between Pherima and Piphema due to landslides, triggered by incessant rains on Saturday.

According to Dimapur Traffic police, the mudslide occurred Saturday morning, blocking the highway for over 5 hours.

However, the road was cleared with the help of machineries provided by highway construction firms.

Police also informed that a truck got stuck in the loose mud and blocked the highway at Ghaspani area, but was later towed away.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement near Central jail junction, Dimapur was  also diverted Saturday morning due to the ongoing construction of the culvert. However, Traffic police informed Nagaland Post that the road has been opened for single-lane traffic.
