MVC bans movement of timber vehicles

Following a hit-and-run case of one Iteichulung on December 10 by a truck involved in logging, the Mhainamtsi Village Council (MVC) resolved to impose indefinite ban movement of all timber/logging vehicles plying through the village with immediate effect till the culprit is booked and punished.

In a press note, MVC chairman Miucham and secretary Bekam said that the victim’s leg was amputated as a result of the incident.

In this regard, MVC has urged the public to bear with the order so that justice was delivered. It Further, warned that those violating the order will bear the responsibilities at his/her own risk in case of any untoward incident.
