A Myanmar delegation led by the chief minister of Magway division, Dr Aung Moe Nyo arrived in Imphal on Sunday to take part in a India-Myanmar Conference to be held on June 11 under the theme, “Connecting India’s North East with North West Region of Myanmar: Roadmap for All Round Prosperity”.

On Monday, the delegates visited some hospitals in Imphal to assess the healthcare facilities and infrastructures in the hospitals. Impressed by healthcare facilities available in hospitals in Manipur, Dr Nyo said, “the healthcare facilities available in the hospitals in Imphal are far better than in my country. I would like to accommodate patients from Myanmar for treatment here.”

They first assessed the healthcare infrastructures being installed at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital, Imphal. The Myanmar delegation also paid a visit to SKY Hospital, Imphal and assessed the healthcare facilities and infrastructure available at the super speciality cardiac hospital.

The visiting delegation inspected the Cath-lab, CTVS Operation Theatre, Post OP ITU, ICCU and other facilities available in the hospital.
