Myanmar woman held with drugs worth Rs 3.63 cr

 A joint team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles seized brown sugar (heroin) worth rupees 3.63 crore in the international market, from a Myanmarese woman on Wednesday.

The accused, Themneilam Haokip aka Neilam (35), daughter of Ngamsei Haokip, a resident of Namphalong of Tamu district of Myanmar was detained at the border town, Moreh after 143 packets of brown sugar weighing 1.817 kgs valued at around Rs 3.63 crores in the international market was found in her bag.
She was intercepted near Sunrise ground in Moreh while crossing the international border at around 6.20 am on Wednesday. 
She has been taken into custody by Moreh Police and a case has been registered, a police source said.
