Naga youth goes missing in Gurugram; 2 arrested

A 25 year old youth from Nagaland who had gone to Gurugram (Gurgaon) in search of a job reportedly went missing on July 20. According to Nagaland Police, Gurugram police arrested two suspects along with the mobile of the missing person.

Nagaland Police said the two persons (auto drivers) claimed to have told the Gurugram police that they kept the mobile of Vangba in lieu of non payment of fare. State Police team led by ADG (L/O)  R. Kikon was in constant contact with his counterparts in Gurugram. A special Gurugram police Team with a SP rank officer has been formed to trace the missing person. 

Speaking to Nagaland Post, a family member said the youth identified as one Vangba Phom had reached Gurugram on July 13 to look for a job and had put up with one of his friends in Gurugram.

According to the description, vangba and his friend had gone shopping on July 20, when Vangba reportedly asked his friend to go ahead as he had forgotten something and went back to the market to get it and did not return that night. Vangba’s family has filed a complaint at South PS Kohima and a complaint was also lodged at DLF Phase-I police station. 

Health & Family Welfare minister Pangnyu Phom, who visited the family members, mentioned that he was in touch with the people concerned and authorities in Delhi on the matter, adding he would do his best to find Vangba. DGP Nagaland has also updated the chief secretary and assured him that all efforts are underway to trace the missing person.
