Nagaland COVID-19 tally neared the 7000-mark after 61 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from across the State on Saturday.

The COVID-19 tally as on October 10, 2020 rose to 6949 cases after 43 new cases were reported from Kohima, 12 in Dimapur, 2 each in Tuensang and Longleng and 1 each in Mokokchung and Peren.

As per the severity of symptoms, 1173 active cases were asymptomatic,46 mild,11 moderate, 1 severe and 1 on ventilator.

Further, out of 6,949 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 3184 cases of armed forces/police, 1551 returnees, 1848 traced contacts and 366 frontline workers.

India reported 73,272 new coronavirus cases in a span of 24 hours, taking the overall caseload to 69,79,423, while 59,88,822 people have recuperated so far, pushing the recovery rate to 85.81 percent, according to Union Health Ministry.

The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 1,07,416 with 926 people succumbing to the disease during the period, the data updated at 8 am showed.
For the second day in a row, the number of active coronavirus cases remained below 9 lakh. There are 8,83,185 active cases in the country which make 12.65 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
