Nagaland COVID-19 tally now 748

Nagaland on Saturday reported 16 fresh COVID-19 positive cases while nine more persons recovered from the virus, taking the state’s total tally to 748-- 435 active and 313 recovered cases as on July 11.

According to state Health & Family Welfare minister, S. Pangnyu Phom, 7 positive cases were reported from Kohima, Tuensang- 5, Mon- 3 and Mokokchung-1. All the positive persons were shifted to the designated COVID-19 hospitals for treatment and active surveillance and contact tracing activated to prevent further spreading of the infection. As per the severity of symptoms, 431 active cases were asymptomatic and 4 with mild symptoms.

Further, nine persons recovered from Tuensang Covid-19 Care Centre. However, they will be kept under strict surveillance, he said.

Till July 11, a total of 16,037 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 14,971 samples were received. Out of the 16,037 samples, 10,381 samples were received at BSL-3 lab and BSL-2 lab and a total of 9,889 samples tested, out of which 532 tested positive.
