Nagaland on Friday reported 148 new COVID-19 positive cases from across the state, taking the tally to 10,608. Dimapur reported 138 cases, Kohima-8 while Mon and Tuensang reported 1 case each.

The death toll also mounted to 60 after two more COVID-19 related deaths were reported on Friday-- one each in Kohima and Dimapur. Out of 60 deaths, 50 were COVID related, 4 under investigation and 6 not COVID related.

Further, out of 10608 positive cases, the distribution across various categories include 4411 cases from the armed forces/police, 1751 returnees, 3944 traced contacts and 502 frontline workers.

As on November 20, there were 1340 active cases, 9104 recovered and 104 migrated.

India’s virus tally breaches 90-lakh mark

PTI: India’s COVID-19 caseload surpassed the 90-lakh mark on Friday with 45,882 new cases, while the recoveries surged to 84.28 lakh pushing the national recovery rate to 93.6 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The total coronavirus cases mounted to 90,04,365 and the death toll climbed to 1,32,162 with the novel coronavirus virus claiming 584 lives in a span of 24 hours in the country, the data updated at 8 a.m. showed.
