Nagaland Film Association (NFA) was established on January 22 with the aim to create bigger platform for the people and also for the welfare of the film fraternity in Nagaland.

The meeting was attended by various movie directors, producers, actors, cinematographer, editor, music scores etc., and deliberated on how to promote and influence the public regarding movies produced in Nagaland.

In view of various reasons, newly elected chairperson of NFA, Kashito Kiba, stated that it was high time that all professional actors and film makers, especially people involved in the field of film production, collectively come together and start a new venture in the form of an official association so as to create bigger and better platform, not only for the welfare of the film fraternities in Nagaland, but as a whole.

Kashito Kiba was unanimously elected as the chairman by the gathering and 11 members were elected as the Board of Advisory.

NFA through its formation seeks to show cast the unique culture and distinct history of the tribal Naga folklores, folktales, poems etc. that has been preserved through oral traditions and practices from generation to generation. It seeks to project this great tribal history into visual through short films, documentaries and other film related projects.
