Popular Hindi cinema actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who arrived Dimapur Tuesday, donated Rs.1.25 crore towards the Nagaland chief minister relief fund.

According to CMO media cell, the actor personally handed over a cheque of Rs. 1.25 crore to the chief minister. Taking to twitter, the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, said he was moved at the kind gesture made by Sushant and his team towards Nagaland Floods and willingness to help Nagaland at this crucial hour. “Your contribution is encouraging and I hope to see the rest of the nation come forward selflessly, to #DonateForNagaland,” the Rio tweeted appreciating the actor.

“I thank Sushant Singh Rajput @itsSSR for standing with #Nagaland. He personally handed over a cheque of Rs.1.25 crore towards CM Relief Fund. I am grateful to him and everyone who has come in support of our state #NagalandFloods #DonateForNagaland,” the chief minister wrote on twitter.

Sushant also took to twitter and thanked the chief minister. “Thank you Sir for your precious time. We, with our full force and determination would work incessantly till the time our #Nagaland is perfectly restored. And this wonderful Gong does make a wonderful sound of friendship. Thanks once again Sir,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, CMO media cell informed that a total amount of Rs 45.50 lakh has been received from the contributors to the CMRF besides Rs.1.25 crore from actor Sushant Singh Rajput. 

It stated that direct contribution to CMRF Bank Account was Rs. 15.69 lakh, online contribution through Air Pay Link was Rs 23.20 lakh and contribution through PayTM app was Rs 6.81 lakh.

Further, CMO informed that out of the total amount, Rs. 10 lakh was given to Kiphire district.

It said the chief minister has expressed gratitude to the citizens of the country for coming forward and making the contributions for relief and restoration operations in Nagaland. He also thanked Sushant Singh Rajput for the contribution. 

Payments for CMRF can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, Netbanking, Amazon Pay, OLA Money, Jio Money and PayTM. All contributions are 100% exempt from Income Tax as per 80G(2) of Income Tax Act.

Individuals from across the country have been coming out to generously contribute towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
