Two-day, 8th edition of Nagaland Spelling Bee championship 2019 got underway at Capital Convention Centre, here on Thursday.

The event was graced by advisor, SCERT, I & PR and Village Guards, Toshi Wungtung as special guest.

He said such competitions would build the courage and confidence of the students to aim for higher level of competitions.

The advisor also asserted that language was a lingual chemistry with complexities and said there was no “mono language” in the world but conclusively and practically a tool to the human mind.

He said that this kind of event will help the students hone their learning ability, the learning strategy besides the benefit of learning how to stand in public and how to express oneself infront of the crowd.

He said spelling was a “requisite of grammar in the form of phonetics, description or tone, although varied from culture to society but expression of temperament and personality.”

The inaugural function was blessed by Swede Luho followed by welcome address by convenor, Neizokhotuo Belho.

Bee champion 2014 Pekruvikho delivered word of encouragement and key note address was delivered by Yevito Sema.

22 schools are participating in this edition.

On Friday, the second day will be graced by member secretary, Nagaland Pollution Control Board, Kenei Miachieo.
