Nagaland to play Mizoram in semi-finals

Group A winner Nagaland will play against Group B runners-up Mizoram in the first semi-final of the ongoing North East Dr. T Ao Trophy at 2:00 pm at IG Stadium, Kohima on Monday.

Nagaland are unbeaten in three matches and scored 20 goals so far. Rhitsho Mero leads the highest scorer list with seven goals followed by Nagaland’s captain Khwethelhi Thop with six goals.
Mizoram won their first two matches by big margin but suffered a shocking defeat against Sikkim to be placed second in Group-B. They have scored 11 goals. F. Lalrinpuia is the leading scorer for Mizoram with three goals.
Meanwhile, in the second semi-final match, Group B winner Sikkim will play against Group B runners up Arunuchal Pradesh at 4:30 pm. 
In the run up to the semis, Sikkim won two matches and settled for a draw against Meghalaya. They have scored only four goals in the tournament so far.
Arunachal’s forward Avinash Kharel and Charul Lalum have scored five goals each for the team. 
The team have scored 18 goals so far in the tournament. 
They have lost their first match against Nagaland, but manage to take a draw against Manipur and thrashed Tripura by 16-0 book a berth in the semi-final on better goal difference ahead of Manipur.  
The third and fourth place play-off and final will be played on January 28 at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm respectively.
