Namri for ban on activities destructive to environment

The Peren District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on July 6 at New DC Office Complex, Peren under the chairmanship of DC & vice chairman DPDB Peren, S. Tainiu.
According to DIPR, at the outset of the DPDB meeting Tainiu welcomed Namri Nchang, advisor for Irrigation and Flood Control and chairman DPDB Peren and members. 
During his address Namri laid down a number of appeals. According to Namri, hunting and fishing should be banned and the villagers should be well informed about it; logging in the district should be checked by the Forest Department; encroachment of government land in all towns in the district should be monitored by administrative officers; members and officers should be at their stations to facilitate public service. The advisor cautioned all the erring officers that he will not hesitate to take action against them.
The DPDB reviewed its last meeting agendas and CMO Peren gave a slide show presentation regarding polio, rubella, measles and vaccination in the district.
Press Secretary to chief minister, Pausui Zeliang also spoke in the meeting appealing to officers to be sincere and dedicate themselves to public service for the upliftment of the entire district. Improvement of road from Athibung to Khelma, up-gradation of GMS Ekesingram village to GHS, were also discussed during the meeting.
