NBC Mokokchung to start new IICS programme

The Nagaland Bible College, Mokokchung will be starting a new programme from November 2019. The new program titled “Institute of Inter Cultural Studies” (IICS) is an extension of the vision endeavour to fulfil its mission to train and produce missionaries to reach the unreached. 

In a press conference held at the college campus on Friday, the new programme of the college besides highlighting the various aspects of the college including courses, history of the college etc was explained. Highlighting the new programme, principal of NBC, Dr. Sentila Ao said that the IICS is a diploma programme which is a first of its kind in the state. 

For the first batch of learners, only 20 persons will be admitted including 5 foreign nationals to undergo the course for duration of 6 months. The principal also narrated the history of college when her deceased father Late Rev. Dr. Chuba Ao (founder of the college) and his wife and mother of the principal Tiala Ao, envisioned the need of a bible college in Mokokchung to equip and train the youngsters to serve the Lord and to spread the gospel way back in1977. 

The college has so far enrolled more than a 1000 students and around 700-800 of them have graduated so far. Located in a pristine environment at Artang ward, Mokokchung, the college got an ATA accreditation in 2011 and currently imparts theological studies for Diploma course, B.Th and M.Div. meanwhile, it was also informed that the college will organizing a variety show program on October 25 titled “Colours of Praise”. 

The event is being organized in order to promote the college as well as to foster unity and friendship and to have a fellowship with the neighbouring churches. It was also informed that around 15 neighbouring churches have confirmed their participation in the programme. The programme will be held at NBC Discovery Hall starting from 5 p.m. onwards. The college administration has invited everyone to come and witness the programme.
