NBPU holds general conference

Nagaland Baptist Pastors’ Union (NBPU) under Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), held its 12th General Conference from March 5 to 7, at Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto under the theme, “Church and its activities”. 

A late press release from NBPU secretary, Keyilunglule stated that speakers of the conference NBPU president, Rev. G. Kiyeto Sema spoke on “Church as Witnessing Community” (1 Thess.1:2-10), NBCC women secretary Visasieu Dolie, spoke on “Church as Moral Guardian” (Acts 5:1-10) and “Church as Caring Community” (Gal. 6:1-5). 

Resource persons Nito Theological College principal, Dr. Hutton, led the Bible study on “Church Growth Movement in the Book of Acts” and Rev. Dr. Pongsing Konyak led the workshop on “Church and Development”.

During the conference, the NBPU also unanimously adopted a number of resolutions: to reaffirm the NBCC clean election stand; to actively involve in Home Base Mission reaching out “unchurch people”; and to keep Sunday holy for worship and Christian witness. A team of office bearers was also elected for the year (2019-22). The team will be led by Zakaria Chang as president, Rev. Nuvosai Vese as vice president, Keyilunglule as secretary along with three other members.

NBPU further expressed gratefulness to Almighty God for His faithfulness and to Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto for hosting the 12th NBPU General conference and also to all the participants.
