NCC annual training camp culminates

 The 24 Nagaland (Indep) Coy NCC, annual training camp, held under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima, ended on July 29. The ten-day long camp ended with a grand finale comprising of a cultural program presented by the cadets in which the rich and vibrant culture of Nagaland was showcased through dance and music. One of the highlights of the program was a beautiful blend of martial arts with music. Cadets also displayed their various other talents.

The event was presided over by Lt Col Vivek Shukla, camp commandant, annual training camp. The camp adjutant gave a camp report at the end of the event and prizes were distributed to winners of various events organized during the 10 Day long camp. 
Overall Best Company Trophy was bagged by the Bravo Company. 
Earlier in the day, Best Cadet competition was held in which cadets participated in a group discussion, quiz competition and drill. The camp commandant expressed satisfaction that the objectives of the ten day long camp were met completely.
During the camp, the main emphasis was on all-round development of the NCC cadets’ personality by imparting military training on subjects like physical training, drill, weapon training and numerous other subjects of social importance like national integration, motivation, career planning, and general health and hygiene.
Various professional and sports competitions were held like inter coy drill competition, inter coy firing competition, inter coy tent pitching competition, guard of honour competition, best cadet competition, inter coy tug of war, inter coy football match, inter coy basketball match. These events also brought out the best in them.
The camp commandant stated that every cadet got an opportunity to participate in some event and it was an eventful ten days for the cadets due to the assistance and support extended by Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, 32 Assam Rifles, Spear Corps, DG NDFR, 12th Battalion NDFR, District Commandant Home Guards and Civil Defence Dimapur, Nagaland Pollution Control Board, the Office of Chief Wildlife Warden, The District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Dimapur under the ageis of Nagaland AIDS Control Society, Youth Resource Services and Medical staff of CMO Dimapur.
Camp commandant, annual training camp, Lt Col Vivek Shukla personally thanked all these organizations for their wholehearted assistance to the unit in organizing a training of this magnitude which would not been possible otherwise.
