NCC conducts webinar on Kargil Vijay Diwas

In commemoration of the 21st anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Nagaland NCC Cadets under NCC Group HQ Kohima paid homage to brave hearts of the Indian Army on July 26. 

According to PRO (defence) Lt Col Sumit K Sharma, online webinar was conducted, where ANOs and cadets from all over Nagaland participated. 

The first event during the webinar was a pledge taken by all participating ANOs and cadets to be worthy of the rich heritage of the nation. They also resolved to devote themselves towards security, sovereignty and prosperity of the nation.  Video documentary on Kargil War, national war memorial, PVC awardees and video on Nagaland’s own brave heart Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurüse, MVC and sub Imliakum, MVC were shown. 

Online patriotic poetry recitation and quiz were also held during the webinar. For cadets who could not participate in the webinar, a patriotic poster/painting competition was organised and their efforts were displayed during the webinar. The programme was organised by ANOs of  1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC, 24 Nagaland (I) Coy, 25 Nagaland (I) Coy, 1 NL Air Sqn NCC and Sainik School NCC Coy, Punglwa.

By celebrating this day the cadets not only paid their respects to Kargil heroes, but also reaffirmed their spirit of patriotism and national unity to become ambassadors in spreading patriotism.
