Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) has identified 22 students for NEC Scholarship, an initiative of central government to provide quality education to underprivileged children.

A press release from Ahthibung Region Clun (ARC) Ahthibung vice chairman, Henpu Kuki stated that, selection process is a herculean task due to oversubscription of vacancies where potential students were identified from BPL families and given coaching to clear the entrance exam. In last two years 66 such students have availed this scholarship from Peren district where Jalukie Battalion played a pivotal role.

Assam Rifles also approached ARC to assist in identifying potential students in providing these scholarship schemes to students of the village. ARC in collaboration with Zeme Students Union identified few students and provided all required assistance to prepare them for the entrance exam.

Assam Rifles said that it would continue to reach out such underprivileged sections of society.
