Need to show love and not stigmatize: DBPF

DIMAPUR, JUN 20 (NPN) | Publish Date: 6/20/2020 1:00:56 PM IST

Dimapur Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship (DBPF) has appealed to all to refrain from stigmatising anyone because of COVID-19 but to show compassion and love.

DBPF through its president Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu also urged all to be vigilant about what was in “our” hearts and minds about people/returnees infected with Covid-19 and those working amongst people suspected to be infected. “We should take care that we have only love and care for them,” DBPF stated.

Further, DBPF lauded the measures taken by the state government to stop the spread of the virus. “The churches are always in prayer for all the authorities and those working relentlessly day and night. We encourage the government to remain vigilant and transparent in all that you do,” DBPF added.

DBPF also reminded all believers that Jesus was in control. “To save us from a worse situation that awaits mankind in hell. It is an opportunity for us to ‘fall into’ the hands of our merciful Father,” DBPF stated.

Therefore, DBPF encouraged all that during this pandemic, when hearts are weak and morale low, it was important to reignite that light that needed to so shine. It also encouraged all staying in Nagaland to continue to show care and love to those around us.
