NEFL: Assam, Manipur settle for draw

Apurba Manipur and Assam Titans on Tuesday played a 2-2 draw in the Northeast Futsal League (NEFL) at NC Bordoloi Indoor, Sarusajai Guwahati, Assam. 

Goal scorers for Manipur were Md Shah Jahan and MdYasir and for Assam, the goals were scored by Atlanta Basumatary and Arman Singha.

In the other match, Mizo Falcons thrashed Meghalaya Thunders, 5-0. According to NEFL media manager, Kaustab, all the matches will be streamed online on official YouTube channel. 

The league is India’s first-ever mixed-gender futsal league, which feature six teams.  The finals will be played on August 31. 

It may be noted that NEFL is a brainchild of Proclivity Sports and Recreation Pvt Ltd or PSR, owned by Ranajit Mahanta and Biswajit Mahanta. 

It aimed to create and develop a sustainable foundation for the sport of Futsal as a sporting career alternative for the athletes of Assam and Northeast India, by providing the best education, facilities and showcases to participate in the game.  

The League is supported by Airtel, Viva Football, Perfect Football, NationalInsurance,Vibes Mojo and matches will be broadcasted on Assam Talks, LPS and Impact TV.
